  Find Peace. Healing..

Kathy Pardue, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor

Thank you for reaching out to talk about your concerns.  I've worked with couples, women's issues, and adolescents for 23 yrs. to help find peace, stability, and new options for old problems.  Edith Stein said, "A woman's soul is a shelter in which other souls may unfold."

Healing happens as we feel heard, understood, and learn to identify automatic thoughts affecting our feelings and behavior.

Teens are in the most stressful years of balancing hormonal, physical, emotional, and social changes.  Individual therapy provides a place of trust to talk freely, and parents are included in sessions to help with goals as desired.  Issues addressed are academics, anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationships, and direction.  Most mild to moderate depression can be relieved through CBT without medication.  Loneliness has caused the present crisis an "age of melancholy."  Adolescents appreciate and love therapy.

Women feel better processing change in seasons of life, anxiety, burnout, depression, eating disorders, grief, loneliness, parenting, relationships, and personal goals.  We need validation, empathy, feedback, and new options generated together.

Couples and Marriage Counseling has been a specialty for 22 years using LUV-Talk,

Listen-Understand-Validate, EFT-Emotionally-focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to strengthen the love bond and increase intimacy.

Couples fall into detachment and chronic conflict when communication fails.  Validation is the key to resolving problems and restoring intimacy.  The new pattern involves acknowledging what the other has said without necessarily agreeing.  Each of you feels respected and more able to listen with empathy.  You can defend your thoughts after validating.  This slows down the argument, and resentment can be healed.  You can get the love back.
